Welcome to Bickleigh Saddle Club

Bickleigh Saddle Club (BSC) is a non-profit making service club dedicated to providing affordable equestrian activities for service personnel, their families and MoD entitled civilians.  The club offers riding facilities for all ages and abilities in a safe and friendly environment with qualified instructors.

Manege (School) Refurbishment

With funding from the Naval Service Amenities Fund (NSAF) and the Devenport Welfare Fund, plus the support of Defence Estates it is hoped to have the menage drainage renewed and the school surface relaid by autumn 2010 in preperation for the winter.

Further to this, planning permission is being sort and funding obtained to put a roofed structure over the school to make it an all weather / all year round facility.  With luck this work may well be completed before the end of 2011.

Bickleigh Riders Triumph at Navy Champs

A team of horses and riders from Bickleigh again competed in the annual RN & RM Championships held at Quob Equestrian Centre, nr Southampton on 17 - 18 July 10.  14 horses, 30 riders and a large number of grooms and supports travelled from Plymouth to participate in a very enjoyable weekend.  The competition consisted of various dressage and show-jumping classes with Bickleigh riders picking up a variety of rosettes in various classes.  With a good standard of riding throughout and competing against riders from the RN, Army and RAF, Bickleigh put up a very credible performance, and with an organized Hogg roast for competitors and supporters on the Saturday night, a good time was had by all.  Thanks goes to Cheri and Kate for all their hard work in organizing the Bickleigh entry and running regular pre-competition training for those Bickleigh members taking part.
